Trying something new has always left me a little uncertain, nervous even. So, I went in search for a little pep talk and came across this quote.
So, stepping out of my comfort zone, I'm going to give posting our weekly family menus a try.
Now in our home there are no full time stay at home CEO's. I work full time as does my DH. With three growing hungry kids and their minions constantly knocking down the fridge door and one heck of a tight budget, I've had to get real with the availability of food in our hut.
Yes, it's true, I do love to prepare a slap your mama kinda meal BUT only when I have ample time to enjoy the process. 19 times out of 20 that is certinaly not the case. Nor have I ever had 3 full days to cook, freeze and stock the house to the nines for a month of dooms day prepper style menu planning.
So without further adieu, Week 45, 2014
Grocery budget for this week, $0. I'll roll over what I did't spend this
week into next weeks budget for restocking. I needed to utilize what I had in
the freezer already, like the meatballs, half a cabbage and broccoli left in the
fridge from last week. Making bread with a machine takes all of 5 minutes and
the breakfast bars about 10, I throw them in the oven while we are eating
and than they are good to go for the week.
Breakfast Options For The Week:
- Jam Breakfast Bars
- Cherry Rasin Cinnamon Bread (Machine Mix)
- Scrambled Eggs and Toast
- French Toast (using the above bread)
- Oatmeal
Monday:
Lunch - Pork Chop Sandwiches (using last nights leftovers)

I generally plan on Wed when I have 30 minutes before mass chos begins.
I shop on Fri so our family menus (posted on the fridge) run from Fri to Thur.
How do I keep it all straight without pulling my hair out? I use Pepperplate.
This site/App keeps all my recipes, super easy to upload from other sites,
my shopping list which automatically uploads, my weekly/monthly planner,
AAAND (with best infomercial voice I can muster) So Much More! (Nope I
didn't get paid to say that either.)
